Prof. Dr. Kristian Hildebrand is a Professor of Computer Graphics and Interactive Systems and leads the Intelligent Interactive Systems group. His research focuses on intelligent, human-centered methods integrating computer vision and VR/AR.

Kristian Hildebrand is Professor of Computer Graphics and Interactive Systems at the BHT, where he leads the Intelligent Interactive Systems research group. His work lies at the intersection of computer graphics, computer vision, interactive systems, and VR/AR technologies, with a focus on the development of intelligent, human-centered systems for real-world applications. He studied in Weimar, Vancouver, and Saarbrücken and earned his doctorate in Computer Graphics from the Technical University of Berlin. Prior to joining BHT, he developed web-based machine learning technologies and worked at art+com studios, where he contributed to interactive, data-driven installations and advanced visualization projects. At BHT, his group works in computer vision and machine learning, including synthetic data generation for vision and medical imaging, multimodal perception, and learning-based interaction models, as well as on interdisciplinary research in augmented and virtual reality for healthcare and rehabilitation. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact venues, serves as a regular reviewer and has worked on more than ten nationally funded research projects since 2018.
