Amy Siu is a professor of Software Development at the BHT. Her research area is Natural Language Processing, with a focus on text in the biomedical domain.

Arnold Schwarz is a Ph.D. candidate at the BHT under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kristian Hildebrand. He holds an M.Sc. in Media Informatics from the BHT and focuses on machine learning and computer vision.

Erik Rodner

Prof. Dr. Erik Rodner is a professor of Machine Learning and Data Science at HTW Berlin. His research focuses on developing machine learning algorithms for data-scarce scenarios, especially for computer vision applications.

Steffen Puhlmann

Steffen Puhlmann is a Ph.D. candidate at the BHT under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hannes Höppner. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from TU Berlin and focuses on developing dexterous soft robotic hands and adequate control strategies.

Amr Mostafa

Amr Mostafa is a postdoctoral researcher at the BHT. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Potsdam and focuses on microbiology and antimicrobial resistance.

Alexander Löser

Alexander Löser is Professor of Data Science working on deep learning and language models, contributing to national AI policy, and advising the federal government as well as DAX- and NASDAQ-listed companies.

Mario Koddenbrock is a Ph.D. candidate at HTW Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Erik Rodner. He holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from FU Berlin and focuses on machine learning and computer vision.

Hannes Höppner

Prof. Dr. Hannes Höppner is Professor of Humanoid Robotics at the BHT, where he leads the Soft Interactive Robotics Laboratory (SIRo Lab), focusing on soft humanoid robotics, teleinteraction, and dexterous mobile manipulation.

Kristian Hildebrand

Prof. Dr. Kristian Hildebrand is a Professor of Computer Graphics and Interactive Systems and leads the Intelligent Interactive Systems group. His research focuses on intelligent, human-centered methods integrating computer vision and VR/AR.

Elisabeth Grohmann is a PI in the APPL-FM project. Her research focuses on microbiology, molecular biology, antimicrobial resistance, biofilms, as well as horizontal gene transfer mechanisms.

Felix Gers is one of the spokespersons for the APPL-FM project. His research focuses on Natural Language Processing, Neural Modeling, Deep Learning, as well as industrial and general applications of AI methods.

Ivo Boblan

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ivo Boblan is Professor of Humanoid Robotics at the BHT and leads the Compliant Robotics Laboratory (CoRoLab). His research focuses on the control of compliant robotic systems, as well as on data-driven learning of the dynamics of two-/four-legged walking robots.

Felix Biessmann

Prof. Dr. Felix Biessmann is a Professor of Data Science at the BHT and the Einstein Center Digital Future, Berlin. His research at the Cognitive Algorithms Lab develops machine learning methods and applications with a strong emphasis on evaluation protocols, fairness, and transparency.
